WHO WE ARE
The Board and Commission are dual state agencies with the joint mission of protecting the health and safety of Alabama patients. Our licensees and registrants are physicians (MDs and DOs), assistants to physicians (PAs and AAs), and Certified Registered Nurse Practitioners/Certified Nurse Midwives (controlled substances prescribing authority only). We also regulate the physician side of collaborative agreements among physicians and pharmacists, athletic trainers, and bridge year graduates.
