David Thrasher Awarded Omicron Delta Kappa Pillar of Leadership in Service to Campus and Community

Lexington, VA (06/27/2024) Omicron Delta Kappa, the National Leadership Honor Society, is proud to announce David Thrasher as the recipient of the 2024 Pillar of Leadership in Service to Campus and Community award. Thrasher is a 1971 collegiate initiate of the Auburn University ODK Circle, where he earned bachelor’s and master’s degrees in wildlife and fisheries biology. He then went on to medical school at the University of Alabama Medical Center, where he focused on pulmonary medicine.

The announcement was made by Jennifer L. Waller, Ph.D., OΔK president and chief executive officer. “Omicron Delta Kappa is thrilled to recognize Dr. Thrasher. His extraordinary contributions to saving lives and his efforts to provide factual information during the COVID-19 pandemic embody the essence of OΔK and what this award represents,” Waller said. “Dr. Thrasher’s work continues to inspire and uplift, and we are proud to celebrate his achievements.”

The Pillar of Leadership in Service to Campus and Community is bestowed on Omicron Delta Kappa members who have demonstrated outstanding achievement in serving their communities.
